Residents at Eve Belle Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, shared an emotional farewell with Year 6 pupils from North Crescent School as they celebrated the end of primary school and wished the students every success as they prepare to begin the next chapter of their education.
The special celebration took place on the 20th of July, marking the final visit from the Year 6 class before they move on to senior school. Residents and students spent time together reminiscing about the friendships they have built over the past four years, sharing stories, reading together and reflecting on the many happy memories they have created.
The pupils have been visiting Eve Belle regularly since the Home opened in 2022 as part of its intergenerational activities programme. Over the years, the visits have become a valued part of life at the Home, helping to bring generations together, reduce loneliness and create meaningful friendships between residents and young people in the local community.
The students have become familiar and much-loved faces at Eve Belle, with their visits bringing laughter, conversation and companionship to residents while providing the children with the opportunity to build relationships, develop confidence and gain a greater understanding of older generations.
Arrianne, Home Manager at Eve Belle, said:
“Today was a very special but emotional day for our residents. Since we opened in 2022, the Year 6 students from North Crescent School have become familiar faces in our Home. They have shared stories, read books, laughed with our residents and brought so much joy during their visits.
“We are incredibly proud of them as they move on to senior school and wish them every success for the future. They will always be welcome at Eve Belle and will be very much missed by both our residents and our Team.”
Although it was a bittersweet occasion, residents and colleagues look forward to welcoming future classes from North Crescent School and continuing the much-loved intergenerational partnership that has become such an important part of life at Eve Belle.
