Chelmunds Court, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, welcomed local families for a special Tots, Tales and Tea morning on 20 September, bringing residents and young children together for a morning filled with stories, songs, play and plenty of smiles.
Following the success of the first event, Chelmunds Court is now set to host Tots, Tales and Tea monthly, creating a regular opportunity for local families to visit the home and spend quality time with residents.
The home was specially prepared for the occasion, with refreshments, snacks and a range of activities for families to enjoy. Residents and children spent time singing nursery rhymes, reading books and playing together, while residents also enjoyed sharing stories and memories with the children and their parents.
Invitations were shared with local schools, churches and families in the community, with everyone encouraged to come along and enjoy the morning. The event created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with residents particularly enjoying the opportunity to meet and interact with the younger members of the community.
Intergenerational activities such as Tots, Tales and Tea are a wonderful way for residents to remain connected with their local community while creating opportunities for different generations to learn from one another, share experiences and make new memories together.
Kera, Lifestyle Coordinator at Chelmunds Court, said:
“I planned the event and, as it was our first one, I wasn’t expecting many people to attend. However, it was a huge success! The families loved it and can’t wait to come back.”
Chelmunds Court looks forward to welcoming families back for future Tots, Tales and Tea sessions and continuing to build strong connections within the local community.
