Residents at Claridge Place Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, enjoyed a special visit from the alpaca Prancer, who brought joy to everyone at the home.
Taking place on 2 October 2026, the visit gave residents the opportunity to meet Prancer, spend time with him and enjoy a unique experience without having to leave the comfort of their home.
The event was arranged and hosted by Senior CRM Stacey, who helped bring the alpaca around the home so residents could interact with him, enjoy his company and share the experience with friends, fellow residents and members of the team.
For many older people, particularly those who may no longer be able to visit farms, animal parks or similar attractions, animal visits provide an opportunity to enjoy experiences they might otherwise miss out on. They can also offer a welcome change to the everyday routine, encouraging conversation, laughter and shared moments.
Prancer’s visit created a real sense of excitement throughout Claridge Place, with residents enjoying the opportunity to meet such an unusual visitor and create new memories together.
Bringing experiences like this into the home is also an important part of Claridge Place’s commitment to being an active and vibrant part of the local community, creating opportunities for residents to continue discovering new experiences and enjoying meaningful moments.
Stacey, Senior CRM at Claridge Place, said:
“By bringing different people, animals and experiences through our doors, we can continue to create meaningful moments, stimulate memories and support residents’ wellbeing and quality of life. We loved having Prancer here and he certainly brightened up our day.”
