Meet Helen Cooke
Home Manager
I joined the Sanders Senior Living family in June 2024, after spending over three decades devoting my life to the compassionate care of individuals living within Dementia, Nursing and Residential care homes. I am a trained Nurse by background.
Rasing my family in a close-knit community within the Vale of Belvoir, my three boys were educated in Melton Mowbray. I cared for my darling gentle dad who developed Dementia and I truly believe that unless you have had personal experience of such heartache, no one can really understand both the sad and happy times during such a journey. Dementia does not define a person and every person’s journey is different.
Throughout my 35-plus-year career, I have worked in numerous settings, from small family-run homes to large-scale care Companies, consistently advocating for person-centred care, emphasizing tailored, meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation, physical health, and emotional well-being with family and friends being at the heart.
As I look to the future, I remain committed to my vision of care homes as vibrant communities where everyone can live meaningful, fulfilling lives. I will continue to inspire new generations of caregivers, ensuring that my legacy of compassion and excellence will endure for years to come.
