Residents, team members and members of the local community came together at Beauleigh Court Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, for a special Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising an impressive £336 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event, held on 25 September, brought everyone together over homemade cakes, cups of coffee and plenty of conversation, while raising vital funds to support people living with cancer and their families.
The coffee morning featured a delicious bake sale, with team member Sally putting her baking skills to work by creating a selection of treats, including a coffee and walnut cake, brownies and lemon drizzle cake. The home also received a generous contribution from students at the YMCA, who baked delicious Biscoff brownies and lemon cake slices for the event.
Residents and team members were joined by members of the local community, including local MP David Burton-Sampson and police officers PC Cleary and PC Higgs, who took the opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee, a slice of cake and a chat with residents and the team.
Alongside the bake sale, Beauleigh Court also hosted a raffle, with prizes including an M&S gift voucher. Resident Barbara proudly took charge of the raffle, helping to keep the excitement going throughout the morning.
The team are delighted to have raised £336 for Macmillan Cancer Support. Events such as the Macmillan Coffee Morning provide an opportunity for residents, staff and the wider community to come together, raise awareness and make a positive difference to those affected by cancer.
David Burton-Sampson MP said: “Really nice to spend my morning at Beauleigh Court for a lemon slice and a cuppa as part of their Macmillan Coffee Morning. Thank you for having me and to everyone I had the chance to chat to. I’m looking forward to my next visit and hopefully another lemon slice!”
