Residents and team members at Beauleigh Court Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, were delighted to welcome Councillor Nigel Folkard, the Mayor of Southend-On-Sea,  for a special visit that proved both engaging and inspiring.

During his visit on 13 April 2026, Mayor Folkard delivered an insightful and heartfelt talk about his life, career, and his role as the current Mayor of Southend. He shared personal stories from his professional journey and offered residents a fascinating glimpse into the responsibilities and experiences that come with serving the local community.

Residents thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet the Mayor and were particularly interested in learning more about his background and civic duties. The session encouraged meaningful conversation, with residents asking questions and engaging in lively discussion. Mayor Folkard responded with warmth and enthusiasm, making the event enriching for everyone in attendance.

The visit held particular significance for residents, helping them feel more connected to their local community. Meeting the Mayor provided a valuable opportunity to engage with a prominent local figure, learn something new, and feel recognised and included.
