Residents at Eve Belle Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, recently welcomed local councillor Andy Neil for an engaging afternoon of conversation, reminiscing and discussions about the future of the Wickford community.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity for residents to connect with their local representative, share fond memories of Wickford and discuss matters important to them. Conversations covered a range of topics, including local events, environmental initiatives and future developments within the community.
During the afternoon, residents also highlighted concerns surrounding the accessibility of a pathway leading to a nearby park, particularly for those using wheelchairs and mobility aids. Councillor Neil listened to their experiences and agreed to raise the matter with the relevant local authority for consideration.
The visit reinforced the importance of ensuring older people have a voice in their local community and opportunities to contribute to discussions and decisions that affect their everyday lives.
Councillor Neil also took the opportunity to learn more about life at Eve Belle, praising the home’s welcoming atmosphere, dedicated team and the happiness of its residents. He expressed his appreciation for the invitation and shared his hopes of returning for another visit in the future.
At Eve Belle, maintaining strong connections with the wider community is an important part of everyday life, helping residents remain engaged with local developments, share their experiences and continue making meaningful contributions to the community.
The afternoon was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen these connections, bringing residents and their local representative together for meaningful conversations and highlighting the importance of community involvement at every stage of life.
