Residents and team members at Claridge Place Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, recently came together to make a very special wish come true for resident Dallas, who had expressed her wish to revisit Olton Golf Club, where she was once a regular member and enjoyed playing golf as well as attending the weekly ladies’ lunch.
On Wednesday 27 March, the Claridge Place lifestyle team arranged a heartfelt trip down memory lane, giving Dallas the opportunity to reconnect with a place filled with treasured memories.
After learning of Dallas’s wish, Stacey, Senior Customer Relations Manager, contacted Olton Golf Club to organise a special lunch visit, carefully arranging for Dallas to attend at the same time as the ladies’ lunch she used to enjoy every Wednesday. Lifestyle team member Michelle accompanied Dallas on the outing, ensuring she could fully enjoy the experience.
The visit was particularly meaningful as it gave Dallas the chance to reminisce, share stories from her time at the club, reconnect socially, and enjoy valuable time in the community.
Commenting on the special outing, Stacey said:
“Supporting Dallas to visit Olton Golf Club for lunch was important because it gave her the opportunity to enjoy a meaningful social outing in the community, promoting independence and allowing her to enjoy a trip down memory lane. Dallas enjoyed a delicious lunch in the sunshine and said she had the most wonderful afternoon.”
The outing reflects Claridge Place’s commitment to delivering person-centred care by creating meaningful experiences that celebrate residents’ life stories, encourage independence, and support emotional wellbeing.
