The Belmont care home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, embraced a vibrant splash of pink on Friday, 18th October, joining in on the nationwide Wear it Pink initiative to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer. Residents and staff alike donned their best pink attire, immersing themselves in a day filled with pink-themed delights and activities, raising an impressive £51 for the cause.

The festivities began with a creative touch as residents and staff decorated pink biscuits with icing alongside enthusiastic preschool children from North Worcester Primary Academy. The connection between the two generations was heart-warming, as laughter filled the air while pink icing and sprinkles were applied with care. The day continued with a pink-themed lunch featuring a refreshing pink salmon salad and a delightful pink ice cream dessert, adding a special twist to the menu. In the afternoon, everyone enjoyed a round of indulgent pink milkshakes topped with cream and sprinkles, bringing smiles all around.

Ann, a resident at The Belmont, shared her joy, saying, “It was fun and nice to see people with a smile on their face and just a really nice atmosphere.”

This event wasn’t only about donning pink and enjoying themed activities but also underscored The Belmont’s commitment to supporting meaningful causes. Engaging in events like Wear it Pink allows residents to connect with each other, the staff, and the community in a fun and memorable way, all while contributing to an important charity.

Carla Sidaway, Customer Relations Manager at The Belmont, expressed her gratitude for everyone’s involvement: “This day was so nice! We all enjoyed wearing pink, and it was fantastic to see the residents get involved too! It was great to have North Worcester Primary involved as well, with the fantastic relationship we have made with them! We can’t wait to be involved in more events like this.”

The Belmont’s Home Manager Stephanie Howard also highlighted her pride in the team’s enthusiasm: “I was very proud to see how involved everyone at The Belmont was with this very important day!
