Residents, families and staff came together at Chalkwell Grange Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, for a vibrant day of music, dancing, food and fun at the first annual CHALKFEST!
Held at the home on Saturday 22 August, the colourful family festival was designed to bring residents and their loved ones together to enjoy quality time, shared experiences and a fantastic day of celebrations.
The event created a lively festival atmosphere, with something for everyone to enjoy. Guests were treated to live music from carer Gary, who drew on his experience of playing in a band to entertain the crowd with live guitar and singing. He was also joined by the fabulous Julie Jive, with plenty of dancing taking place throughout the day.
Alongside the music and entertainment, guests enjoyed a selection of festival food, garden games, raffle prizes and much more, creating a fun-filled afternoon for residents, families, friends and staff to enjoy together.
Chalkwell Grange’s regular family events have become an important part of community life, providing opportunities for residents to spend meaningful time with their loved ones, meet friends and connect with the wider community. Their success has even inspired members of staff to volunteer their own time to help organise and run the events, with some taking centre stage to showcase their talents.
CHALKFEST! was a fantastic example of how shared celebrations can create special moments, strengthen relationships and bring the whole community together.
Home Manager, Marina, said: “It was such a wonderful day, bringing residents, staff and their loved ones together.”
Resident Trudy added: “I really enjoyed myself today, seeing the staff perform and the food was lovely too.”
With music, laughter and plenty of dancing, CHALKFEST! was a special celebration for everyone involved and a wonderful reflection of the warm, welcoming community at the home.
