Beauleigh Court Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, was alive with colour, music, and laughter on Saturday 12th July as it opened its doors to residents, relatives, and the local community for a spectacular Summer Carnival.
The event transformed the grounds into a vibrant celebration space with carnival games, a lively bag stall, homemade cakes, tombola, a cocktail stand, live entertainment from a magician and a singer, and the always-popular ice cream van and BBQ.
Hannah Hargrave, manager of Beauleigh Court, said, “It is important for us to host a range of events and activities to ensure that our residents have an opportunity to explore various forms of social engagement. It is also good for our service users and their loved ones to see us in different roles, actively building an engaging community for all to enjoy at Beauleigh Court. Hosting and organising events such as this, enables us to reach out to neighbours in the local area while also supporting our vision to deliver holistic care.”
The inspiration for the carnival stemmed from the desire to celebrate the wonderful community that has developed at Beauleigh Court since its opening in March. Staff wanted to create an event that was engaging, inclusive and fun for everyone, and a carnival theme fit the bill perfectly.
Residents certainly appreciated the effort and atmosphere, with one resident sharing that the day “was very entertaining and lively,” with another adding, “It was a wonderful event. So much went into making it a success.”
The grounds were beautifully decorated with bunting, banners and carnival-themed décor, setting the scene for a joyful afternoon. A standout moment? The splashy fun of throwing wet sponges at good-natured staff and even some brave relatives, a definite crowd-pleaser that had everyone laughing.
With smiles all around and plenty of memories made, the Summer Carnival at Beauleigh Court was more than just a fun afternoon, it was a true celebration of community, connection and care.
