Residents from Beauleigh Court Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, enjoyed a fun karaoke event and McDonald’s meal treat. The afternoon brought together residents, staff, and relatives for a day full of music, laughter and treats!
The event was designed to encourage social interaction and bring a sense of celebration into the home. The karaoke session saw performances of classic hits and modern favourites, with residents and staff taking to the microphone in full voice. A group sing-along to ABBA and songs from Grease had the whole room clapping and singing along.
The residents previously enjoyed a karaoke event within the home and so Beauleigh Court really wanted to make it more of an event. The staff organised for ‘bouncers’ to be on the door and residents had their very own ‘photo ID’ to show on admission.
Following the musical entertainment, residents were treated to a McDonald’s meal, tailored to their preferences, a simple pleasure that added a familiar and comforting touch to the festivities.
Many residents commented that they loved participating in the karaoke, and they enjoyed the whole day. And in a sweet compliment to the home’s own kitchen team, one resident remarked, “The McDonald’s was nice – but not as nice as the burgers we have made by the chefs here!”
The atmosphere throughout the day was upbeat, filled with laughter, applause, and even a few tears, depending on the song choice.
Beauleigh Court is always looking for ways to bring joy and variety to their resident’s lives. It is these kinds of activities that are crucial for maintaining the vibrant and engaging community already present within the home.
With spirits high, the karaoke and McDonald’s day was a resounding success – and just one example of the community-first approach that Beauleigh Court champions every day
