Chalkwell Grange Hawaiian Themed Summer Fete: A Day of Fun and Community Spirit

On 13th of July, Chalkwell Grange, part of the Sanders Senior Living group, hosted a vibrant Hawaiian-themed summer fete and BBQ that brought together residents, relatives, and friends for an unforgettable day of fun and community spirit. The event featured a variety of activities and entertainment, making it a highlight of the summer for everyone involved.

The fete included several engaging stalls and games. Attendees enjoyed the excitement of a tombola, admired the blooms at the flower stall, indulged their sweet tooth at the cake stall, and got creative at the painting table. Games such as hook a flip flop, hula hooping, and feed the frog added to the festive atmosphere, while a Tiki Bar and live music from a talented singer set the perfect Hawaiian mood.

The BBQ was a standout attraction, offering delicious chicken skewers, halloumi kebabs, rice, salad, as well as classic BBQ favourites like burgers, chips, and hot dogs. An ice cream van provided refreshing treats, and a photo booth allowed guests to capture their favourite memories of the day.

Hannah Hargrave, Home Manager at Chalkwell Grange, shared her thoughts on the event:

“This was a lovely opportunity for everyone to get together and enjoy being part of the Chalkwell Grange community. It lifted everyone’s spirit and enabled staff, relatives, and residents to spend quality time together.”
