The Belmont Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, manager Stephanie Wood has taken on a sponsored walking challenge to raise vital funds and awareness for Dementia UK, with residents joining her for the final miles of her journey.

Stephanie has been putting her best foot forward in support of Dementia UK, taking on the fundraising challenge to help support people living with dementia and their families.

The challenge became particularly special as Stephanie was joined by residents from The Belmont for the final couple of miles. Walking alongside the people she cares for every day, Stephanie was able to share the experience with residents, who offered their encouragement and support as she completed the challenge.

For Stephanie, involving residents was an important part of the challenge and created a special experience for everyone involved.

Stephanie said: “I wanted to take on this challenge to raise money for Dementia UK, but being able to complete the final couple of miles alongside our residents has made it even more special. Their support and encouragement have meant so much to me, and I’m incredibly proud that we could share this moment together.”

The fundraising challenge reflects The Belmont’s commitment to supporting residents to remain active and involved in the community, while creating meaningful experiences that can be enjoyed together.

Through her challenge, Stephanie has raised over £500 and awareness for Dementia UK and the important work it does to support people affected by dementia and their families.
