The Belmont Care Home, part of Sanders Senior Living, proudly participated in St Richards Hospice’s Grow Your Dough Challenge, which took place from October 2024 to January 2025. This exciting fundraising initiative challenged participants to grow an initial donation of £40 from the hospice in creative and engaging ways.

The Belmont team used the £40 to purchase items for raffles and coffee mornings, organising a range of fundraising activities, including a Halloween party, coffee mornings, and raffles. Through these efforts, the care home successfully raised an impressive £392.63 for St Richards Hospice.

Beyond fundraising, the initiative provided an opportunity for residents and their families to come together for enjoyable, community-driven events. The Belmont has a longstanding relationship with St Richards Hospice and holds deep appreciation for the vital services it provides. Seeing residents and their loved ones share quality time while contributing to a meaningful cause was a truly rewarding experience.

“Taking part in this challenge was such fun! Everyone in the home enjoyed getting involved in the events, and it was fantastic to raise money for St Richards. Organising different activities and thinking of creative ways to fundraise made this challenge even more exciting.” – Carla Sidaway, Customer Relations Manager.

“I am so proud of everyone at The Belmont for raising such a fantastic amount for St Richards! The challenge was enjoyable, and our residents loved being part of it. They especially appreciated having their family members join in by attending coffee mornings, spending time together, and engaging with others. It created a wonderful sense of community, and it has been a pleasure to take part.” – Stephanie Howard, Home Manager.

The Belmont extends its gratitude to all who participated, donated, and supported the challenge. The care home looks forward to future fundraising opportunities and continuing its support for St Richards Hospice.
