Variety is the spice of life at The Belmont charity fundraiser

Sanders Senior Living hosted it’s very own ‘food from around the world’ charity event at The Belmont care home in Worcester.

The ‘food from around the world’ event catered to 43 guests at The Belmont; it was a perfect opportunity for Head Chef, Richard, to showcase his culinary excellence, and for the home to raise money for St Richard's hospice and make a wish foundation.

Inspired by a recent masterclass with Mona’s Curry Base at Sheffield Hallam University, Richard delivered an array of wonderful Indian dishes to residents and their relatives in what was described as a truly great evening making wonderful memories.

The Belmont care home also managed to raise a whopping £180 for the charities.

Dinner guests, David and Lorraine, commented on the success of the event:

“We just wanted to say a huge thank you for our lovely family meal on Saturday, it was so special to have the children and Dad together.

Please thank everyone at the Belmont for their kindness and professionalism, especially Chloe & Leigh for giving us the best front of house and Richard who produced the fantastic meal.

I lost count of how many times the children commented on just how amazing everyone is at your stunning home and how happy they are that their beloved Grandfather is so well cared for.”

Home Manager for The Belmont, Sandie Preece, said: “Our first charity curry night for loved ones and residents at The Belmont went down a treat; the atmosphere and food, it felt like we were all in an Indian restaurant eating, drinking, and making so many incredible memories.

For me to witness this and to be a part of a wonderful evening, just made me so proud to be the Home manager of The Belmont. All the staff, especially our head chef Richard, worked so hard to make the evening happen. He beamed from ear to ear all night seeing all the residents happy and content, laughter could be heard all around the home, over the two floors in three different restaurants.

Richard worked so hard, and he wanted it to be a success due to it being the first one we held at The Belmont. To know that the memories made by all, were so important to our residents and from this to give £180 to our chosen charities, is so rewarding to know.”

The Belmont is a stunning, state-of-the-art community for seniors in the Cathedral City of Worcester and is the third care home within the highly regarded Sanders Senior Living collection.
