Chalkwell Grange proud to achieve ‘good’ CQC rating

The team at Chalkwell grange care home, in Chalkwell, Essex, have embraced the celebrations, following the positive news on their recent CQC inspection.

The team were overjoyed to receive a ‘good’ CQC rating in all key areas, following their most recent inspections from the Care Quality Commission; a huge achievement since home’s conception in October 2022.

The CQC report published on the 3^rd of March, following an inspection during the month of February 2023, found: “Staff had a good knowledge and understanding of people’s specific care and support needs and how they wished to be cared for and supported and that the rapport between staff and people using the service was positive.”

Observations from the glowing CQC report noted: “People were supported by staff to maintain their independence and that information from people’s daily care notes demonstrated people were supported to complete their own personal care tasks where appropriate, to maintain their independence with eating, drinking and taking their own medication.”

Vikki Richardson, Home Manager for Chalkwell Grange, and her wider team have worked exceptionally hard to put strategies and processes in place since the home opened four months ago. The team were delighted to see the hard work from everyone in the home reflected in their new official rating.

Vikki said: “We have all worked so hard over the last few months at Chalkwell Grange and we are thrilled to have achieved a positive GOOD rating with CQC in all key areas. I believe that resident, relative and staff involvement in the daily operations has really contributed to our success’.
